Gene Manipulation and Super Soldiers One of the newest ideas in science has to do with not modifying devices in some cases but modifying the humans who use them. We have been hearing a lot lately about the Chinese trying to create super soldiers. This idea seems to go back to the Second World War. The Germans had started giving chemicals to their soldiers so they wouldn’t need as much sleep and their stamina would last longer. In 1944 a German scientist named Wolf Kemper started to administer D-IX to the military. He had said the aim was to use D-IX to redefine the limits of human endurance. D-IX is methamphetamine based. It is known as a performance drug. The Germans knew by that year they were losing the war and wanted the military to continue fighting. They had experimented on prisoners in concentration camps. What they came up with was a formula which contained oxycodone, cocaine and the base I mentioned above. They called it Pervitin. This was based on the fact they had Holocaust victims march up to 56 miles carrying a pack weighing about 44 pounds when they were administered this drug. In 2017 Vladimir Putin of all people, when referring to the attempts by nations to create super soldiers said that humanity could soon create something worse than a nuclear bomb. This is one of the few times I would have to agree with him. He mentioned the fact Russia was also working to do the same and was near cracking the genetic code .It was very strange he would admit this after saying how horrible it would be. I guess he wanted the other nations doing this to know Russia would then do it too. He said the development of an exoskeleton for the military is just the beginning and will ultimately lead to modification of humans themselves. Think about this, what kind of soldier would be the best to command? It would be one with tremendous strength, stamina and one who is programmed to carry out orders without question, no matter how horrible they might be. China has been working hard to create super soldiers. They are busy doing biological experiments to see what they can come up with which will increase the abilities of their soldiers and others. It has been said ethics is not allowed to stand in the way of the testing. What the U.S. was said to know about China’s program is gene splicing was involved. There would probably also be drugs involved. It is believed improving soldiers stamina is very important but I have also been reading reports which say the ability not to feel pain is also being sought. Pain is nature warning something is wrong and not feeling it could easily lead to death for a soldier or anyone for that matter. The United States has been working on the development of super soldiers for a while now. I have a theory; it is many ideas come about from movies and that is where this idea came from. The way we are going seems to be to develop exoskeletons, super suits such as depicted by Ironman and gene editing, in that order. The reason devices will come first is they are further along and probably easier to invent than doing gene editing which is full of dangers in this country. Can you imagine if it ever got out people had free will edited out of them? Also altering their bodies could produce unwanted results. It might be very interesting if we could see what has happened so far, but I am sure those results are secret. One of the most advanced robotics companies in America, Boston Dynamics was just sold to the Koreans. I don’t know how this will affect some of the projects. France does not want to be left out of the equation. They are also trying to develop biologically altered soldiers. They may be somewhat behind Russia, China and the United States. I say this because they announced in 2020, they were going to start a program for modifying humans biologically. They had a military ethics committee look into the matter and a report was released. Among other things brain implants were mentioned. It was made to sound like this was a good thing. The idea of the brain implant was said to somehow make it easier for a soldier to tell friend from foe, but it also was said commanders would be able to know where every soldier was on the battlefield and let them also know the physical condition of a soldier. Other things have been spoken about. Such as an invention by Elon Musk. A device is implanted in the brain which will allow a human to communicate with a computer. Musk had successfully implanted the device into a pig. That means the operation is possible, but I don’t think the pig ever communicated with a computer. I find all this stuff creepy and very dangerous for the individual free will of our citizens and indeed for the humans all over the world. I know I don’t want any devices put into my brain no matter how many times I am told they will give me some sort of abilities I don’t have now. When we have a computer file which is too large, we can zip it. This compacts the file making it smaller and easier to send. There are scientists working on methods of zipping data and storing it in DNA. Think about this, a person takes a trip somewhere and unbeknown to those around him or her, there is a secret message in their DNA to be uncoded. To avoid this kind of thing a lengthy examination of the person’s DNA would have to be conducted. I don’t even think this would be possible. Could programs be inserted into DNA which might make people carry out commands they do not want to or not even know they are doing at the time? There has long been talk about creating assassins who don’t know they are assassins and after an assassination would have no memory of it. Getting innocent people to be murderers is a terrible thought. Could gene manipulation create unknowing assassins, I hope not? One of the questions I would have about all of this is would the super soldiers really be human anymore? Would they have such contempt for the human race after a while, they might turn on us believing they were far superior to us? What about children? Would they have normal children or would the children of super soldiers be different from us?
