Signs Of Life
Signs of life on advanced planets might be entirely different than what we think they might be. By limiting the search to signs of industrialization, we might be making a mistake. Recently scientists said they believed there would be signs we might be able to detect when we look at exoplanets. I presume they would be signs someone would see when they look at our planet, such as carbon emissions and such. I believe this might limit the search only to planets which were approximately at the same stage of technology as we are. I think we should be more open minded. One sign of an advanced civilization might be a perfect atmosphere without pollution of any kind.
I don’t think any limits should be placed on the search for extraterrestrial life. Since we are looking at such distant planets, we might be missing the fact advanced life could have developed in other places and maybe even in space itself. Before you say I lost my mind, I remind you of the sighting by two different groups of Russian cosmonauts who said they saw angel like creatures outside their space station. These creatures were very large, seemingly quite comfortable in space without any apparatus to make this possible. They also seemed to be composed of some sort of plasma.
There are some people who are starting to believe it is possible there could even be life on stars. If there is they certainly would be nothing like us, that is for sure, although I should never say for sure when talking about alien like because it could be made for anything.
The Webb telescope is probably one of the most fantastic creations of the human race so far. Remember it was self-assembled a million miles away without any humans present. Some are saying it was almost a miracle all the parts moved into place. We couldn’t have done much to fix it, if they didn’t. The distance to the scope was about four times the distance of the moon when it is at it furthest from earth. This will be no problem someday, but today it is a huge distance.
There is an idea which states there was at least one race on this planet earth, which might have left for some reason. There is no proof for this, at least yet, but who knows what we might find in the future. It would be hard to find since the earth is so dynamic, but I would like to propose a different theory. We keep hearing we came from Mars, and who knows, maybe that is true. My theory states we could also have settled on Mars and that is why some of the things we see on Mars resemble those on earth. I am talking about the pyramids on Mars and even the face, which many say was debunked, but really was not debunked scientifically. We were presented with a photo which while in color left out most of the colors resulting in the face looking like a pile of dirt. That could also be the reason so much has been found on photos on Mars which resemble building materials and statues which seem to look like humans.
There also have been some strange bones and skulls which do not resemble us which have turned up in photos of the landscapes on Mars when these landscapes were magnified and thoroughly examined. It has become almost a joke to some we never seem to send rovers to the areas many of us believe might turn up something. This could be because the government already knows the answer and thinks we can’t handle the truth.
Is the search for other life being conducted in earnest? Has science taken into consideration what might happen if an advanced race made contact with us? Remember Stephen Hawking the famous physicist? He had a view which stated meeting with aliens could be very dangerous. He compared it to what happened to the native Americans, when they met Europeans. Even though we seem to be very anxious to find intelligent extraterrestrials, even if we see indications of intelligent life, we may never be able to contact them due to the great distances in space. We probably should be concentrating on solar systems which are the nearest to earth, say within 50 light years. And yes, if you are thinking we should thoroughly examine our own solar system first including the planets, moons, dwarf planets, and the Kuiper Belt.
Again, I am going to quote my old song, we need more speed. At the current speed available to us to explore, we would need centuries to explore all the stuff in our solar system, unless we sent many different missions out at the same time. If we had better cooperation with other nations this might have been possible, but due to budget considerations, this will never happen. The answer is a speedy space craft which could visit many different solar system objects on a multi-year voyage. We would need something which could travel near the speed of light for our solar system voyage, after all there are hundreds of moons alone to be explored, eight planets, yes, I am calling Pluto a planet and not including Earth, and many other objects to be explored. Some will require special equipment because they are covered with ice which will have to be pierced and devices lowered into the water below the ice.
One of my regrets is I won’t be around to see all this start to happen, but that is life. If we only could get the nations of earth to cooperate with each other in space, it would make things so much easier. Not only that, but more devices might be discovered and invented to make our missions faster and even profitable as we discover rare minerals and such which are suitable for mining.
With all the talk lately about some object being formed out of diamonds and such, the material might become so common or easy to make, our spacecraft might be made out of it. Space travel might also become a lot safer as we send more manned missions out into space, because we will probably begin to solve things like artificial gravity and protection from radiation.
It will be interesting to see how we handle that first contact. There may have to be some sort of protection against germ interactions between us and the aliens. We are germ factories and they may be also and alien germs could be deadly as could some misunderstanding.
