News 7 February 2024 I usually cover my webcam when I don’t use it. I am talking about my desktop computer, but I realized I never gave a thought to my cell phone camera. I found out something else which had nothing to do with the cell phone camera, but with the smartphone screen itself. It looks like ambient light sensors might allow the screen on the phone to be able to spy on us. Are we all going to have to keep our cell phones in a closed case? What about the microphone? Our phones are just another device spying on us or having the potential to do so. Years ago, we actually had privacy. People growing up today have their entire lives laid out for those who want to see it. This has become the golden age for cyber thieves. I am sure it will go down in the history books that way. A Russian cosmonaut has just made an incredible feat. He set the record for the most time in space. It is over 878 days as of the writing of this article. By the time you read this you may have seen him back on earth. I have to wonder what kind of shape he will be in. I have a hunch it won’t be too good. He was bound to have lost some muscle mass no matter how much exercises he did. He will have also received quite a dose of radiation compared to us earth dwellers. He said he always wanted to be a cosmonaut. He didn’t do the days all at once, but in various trips. It is said he wants to be the first person to have spent 1,000 days in space. The trip he is on now started on September 15, 2023. Google Maps and Google Earth are being used constantly by those who are doing searches for unusual objects. Over the years there have been a lot of claims of some very strange things being seen. I remember one photo which showed a large passenger plane in a walled in area without a roof. Many were wondering how the plane got in there. There have been a few claims of UFOs being discovered. The latest one I know about was seen on Google Maps and was said to be 12 meters wide and found in Antarctica. Google has provided some entertainment for arm chair searchers. Some of the fossils of dead animals can be truly strange. Sometimes we find even more than a mere fossil, such was the case when a baby Wooly Mammoth was found almost intact frozen in ice. Recently a very unusual fish was found. What makes it so unusual is its lower jaw. This jaw protrudes out a couple of feet more than the upper jaw and looks like the sword of a sword fish. I guess you never know what mother nature might produce. Space Force is talking about launching someone into space for the first time. I had been wondering when this was going to happen, I mean they are Space Force after all. What is a little unusual is the fact they are talking about sending only one person up. The last one person shot into space in the United States took place over 39 years ago. It may be he will be put on a flight with other non-Space Force astronauts since he is scheduled to go to the International Space Station. Brain science just keeps advancing. A new computer is coming online which is said to act just like a human brain. We also know it has now become possible not only to know our thoughts with the right setup, but for people to think commands which allow them to move parts of their bodies which were damaged and non-responsive. I even saw an experiment where a person was hooked into the brain of another and could think commands which moved their body parts. What is the world coming to? Recently the brain of a pig was taken out of its body and kept alive for five hours. Are we headed for brain transplants some day? It could turn out the earth is not what we thought. Scientists made a surprising announcement about it. They claim a proto planet about the size of Mars hit the earth and became part of it and is inside our planet. In theory it happened about 4.5 billion years ago. It was even given a name and that was Theia. The scientists went on to say this caused the debris which later formed our moon. Some believe they will eventually find physical evidence to prove this. Where did this idea come from? All I know is scientists tested two masses below Africa and the Pacific Ocean. Archaeologists are rushing to examine underwater ruins. They would like to get as many clues and artifacts as they can before something happens to these precious sites. There are many areas under water which used to be dry land which ancient races built upon and lived in. The scientists are worried because many of these areas are being looked at for wind farms. It seems our own technology might finally wipe out these places. It seems we have a choice. One group of scientists say the universe could be twice as old as we think, while other scientists say they have found inconsistencies which seem to indicate the universe is a lot younger than we think. This just goes to prove we really can’t be sure of the age of the universe and it might be eternal. That would really throw a monkey wrench into all these scientific theories. The pentagon stated it is going to declassify some secret space programs and technologies. This stuff must really be insignificant for them to do this since they are notorious for keeping secrets. I would like them to just declassify the Roswell crash and tell us the truth, but I guess that is too much to wish for. A new policy will reduce the classification level. Does this actually mean we get to see or hear something about these programs, or does it mean some programs will be reduced from Top Secret to Secret and still kept from the public? It seems China is going to do some simulation experiments on their space station which relate to finding the existence of extraterrestrial life. One of the oldest life forms on earth is anaerobic archaea and it will be used in the experiments. The Chinese want to see if these microbes can survive in space. What the Chinese are doing is determining the survivability of the microbes in no gravity, radiation and space.
